Colin's Final DAC

Rocking the Walls Peacefully with Respect

a) What changes did you make to the original images you used?
-
I used my developed skills I have learned in photoshop and I have added the plastic wrap on top of the image.

b) What pleases you most about the technical quality of your work? Why? -That i am able to make the image I already like with my style on it. using the photoshop tools that I know.

c) What displeases you most about the technical quality of your work? Why? -The art I have enhanced is a little blurry making the black picture looking too clean, making it look like I added the image on top of it.

d) What new techniques or skills did you learn through the completion of this activity?
- To use the theme of two sides of the topic bad and good side of graffiti/art.

e) What message did you hope to convey in your collage, if any?
- To let other people think about the things they do not concentrate on or put into consideration on all day and add in another aspect of life into thier day.

f) What emotional response do you hope to elicit from your audience?

- I hope people look at this picture and think its ''cool'' then that makes others appreaciate my art.

g) What changes would you make to improve on this image?

- I would add more aspects of graffiti into the picture making it more of a collage/ abstract with all of the themes into it, but not making it too hard at the same time. Thats what I would do to my picture next time.

I like your art because it is colourful and expressive. The message is clear that you are talking about vandalism. I can tell that you put plenty of time into this picture because everything flows well in the picture.

Your art makes me feel like vandalism is something ugly but you are trying to pass it off in a gentle way by all of the colour that your picture gives off. This has put me at ease when I look at your picture, otherwise it might've given me a bit of a scare. Vandalism is never something pretty to look at, which is a relief.

I don't understand how your title doesn't really speak out about the fact that you are talking about vandalism. I'm glad that you didn't forget the peace and respect or else I would've been questioning the fact about why you didn't add that in.

Overall this presentation is pretty solid, good work Colin.

Colin!
Your work is great! I really like the colours, the plastic wrap filter and the little maple leafrs decendin from the black image. The colours on that peice are loud, and I like them.

Your art makes me feel alert and awake like the colours are slapping me across the face..haha.
I'ts very expresive and it makes me ant to draw more.

Something that I dont really understand is are youu for or against graffiti? I know the answer in real life but yyur image looks like its really supposrting graffiti and I dont know wha it has to do with peace and respect.

Overall I really like your art but im not really clear about the message

I like your art because it gives a feel to what you are showing in the photo. I also find that the image sends a message that most people can understand - not all graffiti is bad and some can send a message about peace or respect .I like the way you put the words “Art = Respect” in your art work because some people do try and show how respect brings peace to the art viewing community.

Your art makes me feel pleased because some people are trying to send a message whatever way they can. I find that even though some people view graffiti as vandalism,
people still do it because they can send a message to people even if their art work isn’t an Art museum.

I don't understand what the meaning of the symbol is in the top corner of your image. I don’t understand what it is supposed to represent or what exactly it has to do with respect bringing peace.
